Nakata Engineering Extruders - Features and Benefits
Over many years of experience in development of tire production equipment, Nakata's design engineers have eliminated most of the weaknesses of traditional extruders. Some of the significant advantages of Nakata extruders over competitors' products include:
  • Heavy duty head clamping system, with independent opening and closing of the upper and lower hea
  • Improved feed roll assembly design
  • Improved heat exchange capability
  • Easy removal of rubber in the head
  • Short change-over times

The heavy duty clamping system developed by Nakata for high extrusion pressures uses a unique, strong head clamp, wedge lock and large hydraulic cylinder. (Maximum operating head pressure - 250 Kg./Sq. Cm.)   Great care was taken to maximize and optimize the water jacket to achieve a constant temperature throughout the head. This gives a stable and accurate condition for the extruded component, which is critical to tire uniformity.

Nakata extruders feature an improved feed roll assembly to prevent rubber leakage, ensure longer life and provide stable feeding of the slab.

These benefits are achieved through a reliable, simple design that incorporates large, outboard mounted, heavy duty, bearings, self return guide, replaceable end rings, and water cooling of the feed roll.
The Nakata extruder is designed so the final die change can be made in one minute.

The upper tool clamping system can be stopped at a set intermediate position, enabling the final die to be changed with the pre-former still clamped, preventing rubber leakage between the head and the tool.
